сокр MSAТерриториально-статистическая единица, используемая для обозначения городских агломераций, включающих центральный город [central city] с населением численностью не менее 50 тыс. человек и его пригороды [urban area]. В 2003 в США было 369 МСА. Введена в 1949 Бюджетным бюро [ Bureau of the Budget] под названием "стандартная городская зона" (СМА) [ Standard Metropolitan Area]. В 1953 получила название "стандартная городская статистическая зона" (СМСА) [ Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area], современное название с 1983. Различают объединенные городские статистические зоны (КМСА) [ Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area], состоящие из нескольких первичных городских статистических зон (ПМСА) [ Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area], и собственно МСА.English-Russian dictionary of regional studies > Metropolitan Statistical Area
